Solar System Scale

On the 30th of June, Pot of Gold have been learning the scale of the solar system. This photo shows you the planets that we made out of play dough by guessing.

Our 2nd attempt, we used maths to get and accurate result with our planets. We have inferred that the planets are much smaller than the king on the throne, Jupiter! We were split into 9 groups and built our planets.(Including Pluto a dwarf planet). Our 3rd attempt was when we combined all the Jupiters together, all the Saturns together and so on. We then got a spectacular result as shown in the photo below

Science in P.o.G

We are asking questions about how craters are formed. For example, do bigger meteorites make bigger craters. We are carrying out experiments and thinking like scientists!

Inquiry's

In pot of gold we have been starting to make a new inquiry that has something we need to do to help the nz be a better place. For some examples stop wasting power or stop smoking. We start planing then research but after that we have to analyse all our information one big paragraph so as soon as we do that we have to communicate and that means tell every one your ideas using media like iMovie, graphic design and lots of other ways to tell a message. That is what pot of gold is doing .
