Pepper

Today we got a visit from Pepper , Mr Smiths kitten. She got thrown out a window in a moving car and super Philippa came to the rescue she jumped out of the car grabbing Pepper. All of a sudden Peppers story changed also Mr Smith, Mrs Smith and the 4 girls lives have changed - they have a kitten!

Sports rotation

At sports rotation we do hockey/badminton/circuits/tennis/rugby and golf.                                           
We strive for excellence.
We do sports rotation every Tuesday and its good exercise for you. 
You would love to do sports rotation
and thats what college street kids love to do.

  

Karakia

Today at school the senior syndicate went to karakia we had to line up in a koru. We sung a waita and handed out certificates. We do this every Monday.

Our first Monday at school

Morning:

In maths time we leant 6s /7s times tables. We started statistics by trying to decide who was faster, boys or girls. We voted but some people didn't know who would be the fastest. Then we went outside and we raced the boys and the girls with a timer. Tomorrow we will find out who was fastest!

After morning tea:

We watched the mihi video and did a see think wonder.

Building our learning community

Currently the senior syndicate are having a competition  based on The Block.  There are five teams (Blue, Black, Pink, Red and Green.) The competition is to create the best classroom by Friday week 3. Also there will be a prize for the winning classroom. Plus we have made a Maori welcome to all the new students and teachers to C.S.N.S. and hope they have a wonderful time teaching and learning. Room 12 and 13 spent the afternoon designing our dream classroom for The Block. This is a photo of them working and coming up with some amazing designs.
